This is where I make the case that you should vote for the person that you want to vote for, not the person who you think will win the general election.

Well, first, I want to remind you that local and state elections are also important and I also want to remind you that the presidential election shouldn’t be treated like a messed up episode of the Bachelor nor should we have election cycles that are two years long. But whatever.

From what I gather from scrapping the sides of the public conversation, there is a real fear that Trump will be re-elected. I get that fear. I am very afraid of that! That fear is not a bad fear. In truth, if we keep that fear pumping through our collective veins, it wouldn’t be a waste. However, that fear of re-electing a racist moron has caused a sizable problem: do we vote for someone that feels like they could win, or should we vote for the more progressive candidate with dreams of building a better future?

To be clear: I like Warren for President. She’s more progressive. The fact that she’s a woman shouldn’t be a penalty against her, even though it is.

I understand why everyone wants us to shut up and just support Biden. He’s ahead in the polls, he’s…

I teach writing and I try to write. Hopefully, something I write will connect with you. But, I mean, it might not. That’s ok too.
